Discover for Yourself💜✝️💜✝️

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!" — Psalm 34:8 (ESV)

There is an old saying that "the proof is in the pudding," meaning that something's true value or quality can only be confirmed by experiencing it firsthand. This is exactly what God invites us to do—He calls us to put His goodness to the test, to step into a relationship with Him, and to discover for ourselves just how faithful, loving, and kind He truly is.

The phrase "taste and see" in Psalm 34:8 emphasizes a sensory experience of God. The word sensory refers to anything that involves our senses—touch, taste, sight, smell, and hearing. God doesn’t want us to just hear about His goodness from others or read about it in Scripture; He wants us to experience it personally in our lives.

  • We taste God's goodness when we receive His provision and grace.

  • We see His goodness when we recognize His hand at work in our lives.

  • We hear His goodness in His Word and through the encouragement of others.

  • We feel His goodness in the peace and comfort He provides.

  • We sense His presence in worship, in prayer, and in the beauty of His creation.

God’s goodness isn’t just an abstract idea—it’s something we can truly experience when we seek Him, trust Him, and take refuge in Him. Today, let this verse be an encouragement to step out in faith and trust God more deeply. No matter what you are facing today, take a step of faith and let God show you just how good He is.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I don’t want to just know about Your goodness—I want to experience it for myself. Help me to trust You in every area of my life. Open my eyes, ears, and heart to recognize Your presence and provision. Thank You for inviting me to taste and see Your love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
